Suspect wanted for murder in shooting that killed Indianapolis man

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 19, 2016) – Police are looking for a murder suspect after the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old man last week.

Indianapolis Metropolitan police identified the suspect as Zechariah James, 30, Indianapolis. He’s accused of shooting and killing Antoan Johnson on April 11, 2016. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Johnson was shot around 4:30 a.m. in the 3800 block of Pleasant Run Parkway. Police were originally called to the area on a report of shots fired; they found Johnson dead from a gunshot.

James is about 5’11” and 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Police consider him armed and dangerous; anyone who sees him shouldn’t approach him and should instead call 911.
