WANTED | Police search for four armed men in Lafayette bank robbery

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Aug. 4, 2014)— The Lafayette Police Department is searching for four suspects in connection with an armed bank robbery Monday.

Police said the suspects entered the Industrial Federal Credit Union bank on Meijer Drive around 9:25 a.m., wearing dark clothing and were carrying handguns.  One of the bank’s employees was struck in the head, but police said her injuries were not serious and she was treated at the scene.

Two other bank employees and one customer, who were inside at the time of the incident, were not injured, said police.  Additionally, no weapons were discharged during the robbery.

The suspects fled the scene in a dark colored sedan.  All the suspects were described to be black males, wearing dark clothes.

Police said a dye pack was deployed along with the undisclosed amount of money that was taken.
