Cursive handwriting requirement clears Senate committee

It might be time for you to brush up on your cursive. A bill requiring cursive writing in Indiana schools cleared a Senate committee Wednesday.

The State Department of Education dropped the requirement in 2011, pushing for students to learn more keyboard and computer skills.

A similar measure was approved by the Senate last year but didn’t advance in the House.
