Greenwood police said the severed gas line has been clamped shut and Fry Road is back open, as well as the entrance to Polo Run Apartments.

GREENWOOD, Ind. (Aug. 27, 2015) – Drivers in Greenwood should be aware of a road closure Thursday.

An excavator digging in the 900 block of Fry Road just west of U.S. 31 hit an underground gas line around 10 a.m. Fry Road will be closed between State Road 135 and U.S. 31 until further notice, and police are telling people to avoid the area.

Emergency crews have also closed off the main entrance to Polo Run Apartments. A secondary entrance has opened. Drivers should take County Line Road west of U.S. 31 to Treetop Lane. After that, turn left on Treetop Lane, take it to Rolling Hill Road, turn east on Rolling Hill Road and follow it into the apartments.
