INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 4, 2014)—Forty-four employees at Damar Services, a nonprofit organization that specializes in the treatment of behavioral and developmental challenges, were laid off last week.

Communications director Nicole Woods said Damar’s growth projection for certain programs “has been unrealized,” resulting in the layoffs. However, she said the organization would not be cutting services.

Woods said the 44 employees were notified last week and the layoffs were effective immediately.

Damar Services currently employs more than 900 people.
