INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting Monday afternoon.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the shooting happened in the 2300 block of East Werges Avenue around 2 p.m. Monday.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying in the front yard of a vacant house. The man has wounds consistent with a shooting. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
