Death of 66-year-old Bloomington man being investigated as homicide

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found dead in his Bloomington home as a homicide.

On Monday afternoon, law enforcement officers located the victim, Donald Gentry, 66, in the 4500 block of Old State Road 37. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy was performed Tuesday, which led investigators to rule Gentry’s death as a homicide.

As of Tuesday night, the case remained an open investigation with several leads being followed up on and items being sent to the state crime lab for analysis.
