INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 9, 2014) — A semi truck overturned and a woman was rushed to the hospital Thursday morning after a disabled vehicle was struck twice on the interstate.

Police told FOX59 News the disabled vehicle was on southbound I-465 near mile marker 13.2 when it was struck by a pickup truck that didn’t see it.

At that point, the disabled vehicle was spun into the middle of the roadway just as a semi truck was passing by.

The semi struck the disabled vehicle as well, all while that vehicle’s driver was inside, police said.  Authorities did not release the condition of the disabled vehicle’s driver, but said she was taken the hospital.

The semi truck overturned and spun around as a result, but neither the semi or pickup trucks’ drivers were injured.

Accidents involving disabled vehicles could be an ongoing concern in central Indiana through the weekend, as towing companies throughout the region are experiencing an overwhelming call volume.
