Officials with the Department of Natural Resources say a Chicago alderman doesn’t have permission to “deport” pigeons to Indiana.
A woman inside a Chicago office building recorded video of a man identified as an Indiana farmer capturing the birds.
When she confronted him, the farmer told her he had permission from a council member and was going to release the birds on his farm over the border.
The alderman’s office isn’t returning calls about the farmer’s identity or location.
The DNR said bringing the pigeons here would require a permit, but a permit like that hasn’t been issued in more than 10 years.
