DANVILLE, Ind. — Two people were killed in a crash Monday in Danville, according to the Danville Metropolitan Police Department.

The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Cartersburg Road, just north of County Road 200 South.

On Tuesday, the coroner identified the deceased as 23-year-old Bryce King and 26-year-old Abigail Scheibelhut.

King was an assistant football coach at Cascade High School in Clayton. Mill Creek Community Schools Superintendent Jim Diagostino released the following statement following his death:

“On behalf of the entire Mill Creek Community School Corporation, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Bryce King. We are saddened by the sudden loss. Bryce recently served our school community as an assistant football coach at Cascade High School. We will have counselors available for our students and staff during this difficult time. Our community will, once again, support each other!”

DMPD and the the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash.
