INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 6, 2015) – Around 4:30 Sunday morning a vehicle was driving west on 16th Street when it crashed and struck a traffic light pole, catching fire. Firefighters arrived on scene and put out the fire.

They were able to get the man out of the vehicle, but he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Officers say part of 16th Street was recently repaved, making it hard for officers to see skid marks. Officers aren’t sure how the accident happened or if alcohol was involved.

An investigation is underway.
