Driver extricated from car after crashing into Plainfield building

PLAINFIELD, Ind.—Emergency crews with the Plainfield Police Department rescued a man from his vehicle after it crashed into a building early Monday morning.

Police said the 39-year-old driver of a Nissan Altima was traveling east on E. Main Street when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole before colliding with a building in the 200 block of W. Main Street.

The driver was conscious as rescuers extricated him from the vehicle. He was transported to Methodist Hospital for evaluation.
