1 hospitalized after shooting on Indy’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A person was shot early Saturday morning on the east side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department

At around 3:20 a.m. Saturday, police were called to a home in the 2600 block of Morningstar Drive in response to a person shot. Officers were able to locate one male suffering from an apparent gun shot wound at the home.

EMS personnel took the victim to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital for treatment. It appears he was shot once in the abdomen. The male was listed in stable condition and is expected to survive his injuries.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
