INDIANAPOLIS (May 19, 2014) – Ed Carpenter says he’s “lucky” and “having fun” after posting the top speed and winning the pole Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
He’s also hoping next weekend will be even more fun.
Carpenter talked to FOX59’s Chris Hagan about winning the pole for the 98th running of the Indianapolis 500. JR Hildebrand, Carpenter’s teammate who was also in the Fast 9, discussed the upcoming race as well.
Carpenter couldn’t stay up celebrating too late Sunday night–he was due back at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at 7 a.m. Monday for the front row photo shoot. James Hinchcliffe (qualified second with 230.839 mph average) and Will Power (qualified third with 230.697 mph average) joined him for the occasion.
