INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 12, 2014)– Gov. Mike Pence testified Wednesday in favor of a voluntary, pre-kindergarten program (HB 1004) before the Indiana Senate Education & Career Development Committee. This is Pence’s first time testifying as Governor in support of a bill.

“Because every child deserves to start school ready to learn, I believe the time has come for a voluntary pre-K program to help Indiana’s low-income kids, and I am honored to endorse that proposal before this committee today,” Pence said in a statement released prior to the testimony.
