NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (October 25, 2015) — A family is safe after escaping a house fire in Noblesville. The fire started around 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the 14900 block of Fawn Hollow Lane.

When fire crews arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the garage and roof on the west side of the home. Firefighters worked to slow the spread of the fire.  However, the house is being deemed a total loss.  A car also sustained damage.

Four people currently lived in the home, three of which were there at the time.  The residents said they smelled leaves and wood about 10 minutes prior to the fire. They also hear loud popping noises coming from the garage. One of the residents went to check the garage and discovered the fire inside. She and the two others were able to safely exit the house through the rear sliding doors.

The residents are renting the home. They do have renter’s insurance.

At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
