Family, friends attend Hoosier native Joey Feek’s public memorial service in Alexandria

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 13, 2016) – Around 1,200 people gathered in Alexandria Sunday afternoon for Joey Feek’s public memorial service.

The Hoosier native died Friday at 40 years old after a long battle with cancer. According to her obituary, the Feek family will hold a private funeral for Joey and she will be buried at the Feek Family Cemetery.

Joey is survived by her husband Rory, their three children: Heidi, Hopie and Indiana, her mother, father and three sisters.

The public service took place in the gymnasium of Alexandria-Monroe High School at 2:30 p.m.

Rory Feek, their daughters and family members were in attendance.

Rory wrote about the details of Joey’s private funeral in his latest blog post. “We remembered that she’s still with us. She’ll always be with us. In our hearts. Forever,” he wrote.
