INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 9, 2015)- Nicholas King was killed just five days after his 18th birthday.

Back in July, King was riding his moped with a friend.  A car hit the two as they were crossing High School Road. King’s friend survived.  King died at the hospital.

“I miss just waking up in the morning and just seeing him next to me. He would be there no matter what,” explains Dujane King, Nicholas’s younger brother.

The driver hit the two and never stopped.  Eight months later, police are still looking for that driver.

“It just keeps going through my mind. It’s not even the fact that they hit him because accidents happen. It’s the fact that you hit him and left him there. You got to be a heartless person,” explains Sylvia King, Nicholas’s mom.

King’s friends and family came together to hold a prayer vigil to show support and hope for answers.

“It’s not right that somebody is just out there, free, and my son is gone,” explains Sylvia King.

Police believe the suspect was driving a gray or silver 1998 Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable.  The vehicle could possibly be a station wagon.

Anyone with any information that could help police is asked to call (317)327-6549.
