Fire crews battle vacant house fire

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 18, 2014) — Indianapolis Fire Crews worked for nearly an hour to get a vacant house fire under control, in the 200 block of Iowa Street.

The fire broke out just after 5 p.m. Saturday.

When crews arrived on scene, heavy fire and smoke was coming from the rear of the house.

Crews battled the snow and bitter cold as they attacked the fire and threat of collapse of the house.

No one was in the home at the time and no injuries were reported.

The home next door did sustain minor damage.
