INDIANAPOLIS — Wayne Township firefighters responded to a fire at a chemical processing company early Wednesday morning.

According to Wayne Township PIO Mike Pruitt, the fire broke out at Heritage Environmental in the 7900 block of West Morris Street around 4:45 a.m..

Pruitt said the fire was contained to a semi trailer holding hazardous waste.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to put out the fire, but they remained on scene afterward to go through a decontamination procedure.

Pruitt said there was no damage to any surrounding buildings and at no time were any residents in danger.
