HAMILTON COUNTY (Nov. 5, 2014) – A Fishers teenager arrested in the murder of a 73-year-old man appeared in court Wednesday afternoon.

Maxwell Winkler, 17, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder in the death of Henry Kim. Winkler, a student at Hamilton Southeastern High School, appeared before Judge William J. Hughes in Hamilton County Superior Court III on a murder charge.

Winkler is being held without bond and will next appear in court on Jan. 13. His trial has been set for April 7.

Police say Winkler killed Kim while the 73-year-old was walking in his Fishers neighborhood. A person walking their dog found Kim’s body.

Winkler was found in a wooded area near 106th and Hamilton Ridge on Monday. Two search warrants later turned up items police believe are connected to Kim’s death.

Autopsy results show Kim was shot three times and suffered a cut to his throat.
