VALPARAISO, Ind. (July 15, 2014) – A 4-year-old Indiana boy used FaceTime to save his mom’s life.

Kalah Riley is pregnant with her fourth child, and was having a diabetic seizure Friday morning.

Her 4-year-old son Elijah knew he was supposed to call 911, but he couldn’t find the phone. So instead he picked up the iPad to FaceTime his grandfather in Florida.

Elijah’s grandfather then called 911.

“I think he did a phenomenal job,” grandpa Joe Hernandez told ABC7Chicago.com. “It’s awesome how children are taught how to respond in an emergency, and we really can see their response is pretty incredible.”

“Yeah, I was a hero. A G.I. Joe hero,” Elijah told the TV station.

Kalah is just fine now.

And by the way, Elijah’s birthday is coming up. And he’s asking for an iPhone of course!
