FRANKFORT, Ind. (May 28, 2014) — A high school teacher from Frankfort was arrested on accusations of having an inappropriate relationship with a high school student.

Thomas Weeks, 46, was taken in to custody without incident Wednesday afternoon. The claim was child seduction.

“Basically what that means is that he had an inappropriate relationship, some of which we believe was sexual,” said Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon.

The investigation began a few days ago, after receiving a tip.

“It really all started Monday when someone close to Mr. Weeks came and reported possible allegations,” Bacon said.

Frankfort police worked with the school district to gather evidence that ultimately led to Weeks’ arrest. The school’s website says he is a history teacher, but he’s also the coach of the Frankfort varsity boy’s basketball team at the high school.

“It is upsetting, it does shock the conscience to some degree that a person of trust could possibly do this, but one point we do want to make clear is that he is innocent until proven guilty,” Bacon said.

The prosecutor’s office says Weeks’ first court appearance could happen in the next couple of days.
