Frankfort teacher, coach arrested following child seduction investigation

FRANKFORT, Ind. (May 28, 2014)– Frankfort Police arrested a teacher Wednesday for alleged misconduct with a female student.

Thomas Weeks, 46, of Frankfort was arrested for child seduction. Weeks was taken into custody without incident at 1:00 p.m.

Weeks is a high school U.S. history teacher with the Community Schools of Frankfort, and is a boys basketball coach at Frankfort High School.

On Monday, Frankfort Police received information alleging misconduct between Weeks and a female student. After an in-depth investigation, Weeks was arrested.

Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon provided the following statement via the department’s Facebook page:

“These types of allegations are taken very seriously and investigated with the utmost sensitivity. Cooperation between the Community School of Frankfort and our detectives, as well as information gathered during the investigation, led to Week’s arrest.”

Superintendent for Community Schools of Frankfort Donald DeWeese provided the following statement to FOX59:

“The Community Schools of Frankfort were notified by the Frankfort Police Department on Monday, May 26 that Frankfort High School teacher and boys varsity basketball coach was being investigated for a possible misconduct charge with a Frankfort High School female student. Tom Weeks was arrested and taken into custody this afternoon by the Frankfort Police Department.”

No information will be released that might reveal the identity of the juvenile victim.
