FRANKLIN, Ind. – Four ducklings are safe and sound thanks to the help of a Franklin police officer.

Franklin PD told FOX59 that a woman called police about several ducklings trapped in a storm drain near the Franklin College campus on Tuesday, May 17.

FPD Officer Matt Smiley responded to the call, and successfully rescued all four ducklings. The mother duck was nowhere in sight, so Officer Smiley gave the duckling to animal control.

Great work, Officer Smiley
