HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (January 16, 2016) — A yellow travel advisory has been issued for unincorporated roads in Hamilton County and Clinton County.

Hamilton County Emergency Management said this is because of freezing temperatures and recent rain making the roads slick.

A yellow travel advisory is the lowest level and means routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation.

Drivers should use caution and be aware of black ice. When driving in potentially hazardous conditions…

  • reduce speeds
  • leave extra room in between vehicles
  • make sure windows are clear of ice and snow
  • turn your lights on to increase visibility during the day
  • have an emergency preparedness kit
  • fully charged cell phone
