Friends, family say goodbye to church bus crash victims

Family and friends gathered Friday at Colonial Hills Baptist Church to say farewell to those killed in last weekend’s bus crash.

Tonya Weindorf died along with youth pastor Chad Phelps, his wife Courtney and their unborn child. They were aboard a church bus that crashed Saturday near 96th and Keystone Avenue, leaving more than a dozen people injured. The group was returning from camp in Michigan.

Funeral services were held for Weindorf at 10 a.m. Visitation for the Phelps family began at 3 p.m. and will last until 7 p.m. Funeral services for Chad and Courtney Phelps are Saturday at 11 a.m.
