Evacuation of Boone Co. neighborhood lifted following gas leak

UPDATE (2:05 p.m.)– The gas leak that prompted the evacuation of several residents in the 900 block of Campbell St. in Boone County has been contained. Residents are now allowed to return to their homes.

ORIGINAL (11:06 a.m.)– LEBANON – A gas leak has forced several Boone County residents to leave their homes.

Officials ordered an evacuation for a one-block radius near 921 Campbell St. Utility workers cut a gas line near Hoosier Estates mobile home park around 10 a.m. The evacuation order includes about 40 homes.

Evacuees are being directed to Harney Elementary as crews work to fix the problem. Repairs could take up to four hours.
