Governor Mike Pence told reporters Tuesday that he opposes a plan to expand gambling in Indiana.
The governor is asking lawmakers not to approve a measure to add live table games to Indiana’s two racing tracks.
This is the first time the governor has said he will actively oppose the expansion.
Supporters argue Indiana casinos need to do more to stay competitive with neighboring states like Ohio and Illinois.
Gambling is big business here in Indiana, with more than $3 billion spent each year.
