RIPLEY COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana State Police is investigating after a two-vehicle crash killed a Greensburg man Sunday afternoon.

State Police troopers responded to a crash on US 421 near Napoleon shortly before 3:30 p.m.

They say the crash happened near County Road 750 North when a 1998 Dodge minivan being driven by William Minch Jr, 30, of Greensburg was traveling northbound on US 421.

Police say that for an unknown reason, Minch’s vehicle crossed the center line into the path of a 2013 Kenworth tractor trailer traveling southbound. The tractor trailer was being driven by John Hobbs, age 39, of Connersville.

According to police, both vehicles collided nearly head-on. Minch was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hobbs was not injured in the collision.

US 421 was closed in the area for more than three hours.

Police say the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
