Greenwood officials have selected a design for a new splash pad.

Miracle Midwest will install the state of the art splash pad, which will feature a water tower, water bucket, water frog, water dome and two misting posts.

The pad will also feature a geyser, arches and jet streams.

“The splash pad will be a great addition to Greenwood’s Parks. We are thrilled to be able to offer Greenwood’s kids a place to play in the water again” said Parks and Recreation Director Evan Springer. “It is a top-shelf design and has something for everyone.”

Greenwood’s pool was shut down over safety issues last year.

The City Council has agreed to build the new aquatic center, which is expected to cost $10 million. Officials believe they have a way to pay for the project without raising prices.
