GREENWOOD, Ind. (March 3, 2014)– A teacher and coach from Greenwood High School has been arrested on child seduction charges. The school district confirms Timothy Guilfoy has resigned.

On Saturday, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the 8800 block of South Madison Avenue on the report of a suspicious vehicle.

When officers arrived they observed a silver 2010, GMC truck backed into a parking spot. The windows of the truck were so dark the officers could not see inside. They asked the driver to roll down the window. When one of the officers reached the driver’s side door, he observed a male completely nude. The driver was identified as Timothy Guilfoy, 36. Also inside the truck was an underage female. When asked what they were doing, Guilfoy told the officer they were having sex.

Guilfoy also told officers he was a teacher at Greenwood High School and that the female inside the truck was one of his students. Police identified the girl as a 17-year-old.

He was arrested and preliminarily charged with two counts of child seduction. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office is expected to release formal charges this week.

“The officers asked for sex crimes detectives to come out to the scene and they took over the case from that point,” said Lt. Chris Bailey.

Greenwood Community School Corporation confirms that Guilfoy was arrested and that the minor involved is a Greenwood High School student. Guilfoy has been with the district since 2000 and submitted his resignation on Sunday. The school corporation also says they will fully cooperate with the investigation.

According to the district website he taught physical education. School officials confirm Guilfoy coached girls golf and strength conditioning.
