HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. – Authorities in Hamilton County are investigating after an Indianapolis woman, identified as 49-year-old Andrea Stewart, died Thursday following a head-on collision Sunday night.

At around 7:13 p.m. Sunday, authorities were dispatched to the intersection of 146th and Gray in Clay Township on a report of a serious crash involving two vehicles.

According to a police report, authorities believe a gray 2008 Honda Accord, driven by Andrew Steckler, 34, was traveling westbound on 146th St. when it crossed over a raised median west of Gray Rd.

It reportedly collided head-on with a silver 2009 Dodger Caliber driven by Stewart. A passenger of the Caliber was a 10-year-old girl, she was sent to Riley Children’s Hospital.

Stewart was airlifted to St, Vincent Hospital on 86th St. and died there Thursday.

Authorities are still investigating what may have caused the vehicle to cross over the median.
