HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (April 12, 2016) – A K9 with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department helped locate a missing 89-year-old man on Monday.

Concerned family members reported the man missing around 5:30 p.m. after he failed to return home from a trip to Potters Bridge in Noblesville.

Hamilton County deputies and family found the man’s car, but they were unable to find him after searching the park.

Deputy Nate Biddle and his K9 partner Waldo were called to the scene. Waldo put his skills to work and found the missing man along the banks of the White River.

Deputies are unsure how he wound up on the bank of the river seeing as they had to assist him for over 100 yards before reaching an area that was level enough to get him away from the water.

Medics checked him out as a safety precaution, but he appears to be well; his family is very grateful.
