LAFAYETTE (Sept. 11, 2014) – A respiratory virus that’s sent children around the country to hospitals may have landed in Tippecanoe County.

Officials at IU Health Arnett Hospital confirm that a 3-year-old Lafayette girl has been hospitalized with enterovirus and is under quarantine. Tests are being done to see if it’s the D68 strain that’s sickened children in 10 states.

Symptoms of the respiratory virus include coughing, breathing difficulties and fever.
