Wednesday, Dec. 2, marks National Mutt Day, which was created in 2005 and is “all about embracing, saving and celebrating mixed breed dogs.”

The day is celebrated twice a year (July 31 and Dec. 2) to raise awareness about mutts and the plight of mixed breed dogs in shelter. Many of them need new homes and can perform many tasks just as well as pure bred dogs, including bomb and drug sniffing, search and rescue, and service dog roles.

We want to see photos of your beloved mutts! Post your photos on Facebook or use the form below. Your photos could end up on FOX59 Morning News on Wednesday!
