INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 8, 2015) — An Indiana High School for teens recovering from addiction held a fundraiser on Sunday.
The “Taste of Hope Culinary event” benefits the state’s only recovery high school.
Hope Academy is a tuition-free charter school that offers support and recovery activities on top of typical high school offerings.
The community was invited to the school to see the work students are doing and to help keep the school running.
The fundraiser featured local chefs and restaurants.
“To get people into the school to see that these are normal young people who are doing great things, who are graduating from high school, moving on to higher education, they’re also staying clean from drugs and alcohol so that’s the purpose of the event,” said Rachelle Gardner Chief Operating Officer of Hope Academy. “It’s to let people see it, see our young people, to hear about the great things that are happening.”
Hope Academy’s fundraisers help provide supplies and transportation to students.
