The government shutdown is being felt by federal employees in Indiana. FOX59 talked with several workers who showed up to their offices and received furlough notices Tuesday.

The Indiana National Guard, Department of Defense and Grissom Air Reserve Base have all been impacted.

“And really where’s the commitment from the government to us to say we appreciate the hard work that you do?” asked Robb Johnson, a furloughed government employee.

Workers like Johnson will not be paid until an agreement is reached. There’s a lot of concern about how to make ends meet. Many of these employees already had several furlough days caused by sequestration and this is just another blow to their paychecks.

“I’m hoping it doesn’t last an extended period of time,” said Johnson.
