INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 25, 2015) – It’s the greatest spectacle in dog walking- the Mutt Strut.

Thousands of dog owners brought out their four-legged family members to walk around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday.

The Mutt Strut is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Humane Society of Indianapolis. Money raised goes toward caring for the thousands of animals that come through the shelter, from medical exams to micro-chipping.

“We really rely on and depend on events like this to make our mission possible and we’re so grateful people think so highly of us and the impact that we have here that they would come out an be a part of the event no matter what,” said Jeremy VanAndel of the Humane Society of Indianapolis.

Last year the Mutt Strut raised more than $350,000 and they’re hoping to top that number this year since the shelter is running strictly on donations.
