(Feb. 20, 2015) – Several hundred customers were without power Friday morning as Indiana faced another day of extreme cold and dangerous wind chills.
By Friday afternoon, most customers had their power back.
Earlier Friday, Duke Energy reported more than 1,100 customers without power. The majority of the outages were in Dearborn County, although there were also problems in Bartholomew, Jefferson and Tippecanoe counties. A Duke Energy representative described the outages as scattered and attributed the problem to cold weather.
At one point, South Central Indiana REMC reported more than 2,700 outages south of Indianapolis in Brown and Johnson counties. By 10 a.m., crews had restored power to those customers.
