IFD investigating vacant house fire on Indy’s near east side

INDIANAPOLIS (July 7, 2015) – IFD crews responded to a working double residence fire on the city’s near east side early Tuesday morning.

Fire crews responded to a call about a fire in the 600 block of N Parker Ave around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived at the scene, they saw flames coming from a vacant double residence and began their attack on the fire.

The fire department believes the fire may have been intentionally set and beginning an arson investigation.

IMPD officers were also on the scene assisting fire crews while they extinguished the flames.

There were no injuries reported. The battalion chief estimates the fire caused about $25,000 in damages.
