The Indianapolis Fire Department is sending out a big thank you tonight to those who continue to donate water and food following a massive warehouse fire on the city’s southwest side.

The department’s Rehab Support Units keep first responders going while working a scene. The units supply water, sports drinks and snacks to crews working long hours at a scene.

Many people have dropped off water and food to first responders at the scene.

“People want to help and we had many people bringing water to the scene, Gatorade to the scene, so it was very generous, very appreciated and we just continue to ask and if anybody wants to help out, that’s a great way help,” said Captain Rita Burris.

If you would like to donate water, sports drinks or non-perishable snack foods, you can drop it off at IFD Station 5 at 450 W. 21st St.
