INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that left one person dead Tuesday night on Indy’s north side.

Officers were dispatched around 11:01 p.m. in the 9000 block of Wesleyan Road in response to a person shot.

Officers arrived and found a person suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. IMPD said the victim was shot outside in the parking lot area next to a hotel.

The victim was later identified as 45-year-old Damion Dewion Cole.
