INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 16, 2015) – IMPD detectives expect to file charges against a teenager seen on video beating up another teenager. The video was posted on the Internet and across social media sites.  Lt. Richard Riddle with the IMPD Public Information Office said detectives believe the incident at Brookside Park happened Saturday morning.

The graphic video shows a 14-year-old girl attacking another girl and then shoving the victim’s 5-year-old brother to the ground.

Riddle said the video helped their investigation. Everyone who was on the video has been identified.

The suspect in the alleged beating was arrested Saturday night in a separate incident. She was arrested for disorderly conduct and was accused of trading punches with a 12-year-old girl outside Circle Centre Mall.

The victim’s stepfather, Perry Bailey, said he was upset about the alleged attack.

“What really set me off the most was that….that child actually (sat) there and actually blindsided my daughter, you know, for no reason,” Bailey said.
Authorities have not disclosed any information about a possible motive. The investigation continues.

Riddle said charges could be filed either Monday night or on Tuesday.

“Obviously, I can’t speak to the motivations of the person (who) uploaded this video on social media, but it actually helped our investigation because it allowed us to see firsthand what may have occurred that day,” Riddle said.
