INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 1, 2014) — The next group of Indianapolis Metro Police Officers is ready to hit the streets of Indianapolis.

On Saturday, the department held its first candidate forum, aiming at teaching new recruits the customer service aspect of policing, positive interaction with the community and pro-social behavior.

IMPD officials say it’s important to set these expectations early in the process and to continually reinforce those expectations throughout an officer’s career.
