IMPD investigating fatal crash on southeast side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has reported a fatal crash on the city’s southeast side Thursday night.

Just after 8 p.m., officers were sent to the scene of a crash at the intersection of Shelbyville Road and Five Points Road.

IMPD said the crash involved an SUV and a motorcycle.

Police arrived and found an unresponsive adult male, who appeared to be the driver of the motorcycle.

Indianapolis EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

According to police, investigators believe the motorcycle was struck by the SUV, though no conclusions can be made at this time.

IMPD said the driver of the SUV stayed at the scene.

The victim has yet to be identified by officials, and police said the investigation is still active.
