IMPD investigating body found behind Home Depot

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 28, 2014) – Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating a body found behind a Home Depot on the city’s east side.

The body was found Wednesday night in the 2200 block of North Post Road around 9:10 p.m.

Police identified the deceased Friday as Shacy Shields III, 43.

IMPD was called to the scene after a caller stated they found the body while walking their dog.

At this point in time, it is unknown how long the body has been there.

Homicide investigators are still processing the crime scene and interviewing potential witnesses.

The Marion County Forensics Agency is assisting with evidence gathering and processing of the crime scene.
