INDIANAPOLIS — Thursday afternoon Indianapolis police were called to a report of a stabbing, that left a woman dead.
IMPD said that the call came in about 4:08 p.m., with officers responding to the 500 block of West 30th Street. That’s near the intersection with Ethel Avenue, on the near northwest side.
A woman was found bleeding and taken to the hospital in critical condition. IMPD said she later died. The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified her as Tinneshia McMillian, 45.
The Nightwatch captain with IMPD said they believe McMillian may have been involved in a disturbance earlier in the afternoon in the 2900 block of Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
Police did not provide more details on the disturbance at this time.
The stabbing is being investigated as a homicide, and detectives were interviewing a person of interest.
