Motorcyclist dies in northwest side accident

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police in Indianapolis investigated a fatal motorcycle accident on the northwest side Thursday night.

It happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of 52nd St. and Georgetown Rd. A motorcyclist was traveling south on Georgetown as a vehicle was attempting to pull out on to the roadway from 52nd St. Both the vehicle and motorcycle stopped with the motorcyclist flying over the bike’s handlebars and hitting his head, according to investigators. The cyclist was not wearing a helmet. The victim appeared to be in their late 20’s to early 30’s.

The unidentified victim was transported to the hospital where they later died. The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene and was cooperating with police.
