IMPD responds to deadly shooting on near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A man is dead after a shooting on Indy’s near northwest side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting occurred around 9:20 p.m. in the area of 2600 N Harding Street.

Police say officers were already in the area and heard shots fired. Officers then located a man said to be in his 50s who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say despite lifesaving efforts, the man succumbed to his wounds and passed away. On Monday, he was identified as 58-year-old Gregory Stone.
